About us

About Purna Research Institute

A charitable trust based in Bengaluru, devoted to the study, practice and dissemination of India's spiritual and philosophical heritage.

Who we are

PURNA RESEARCH INSTITUTE is a registered public charitable trust with its centre at Dhyana Mandir, Padmanabhnagar, Bengaluru. The Trust conducts study circles, guided meditation, scriptural discourses, retreats and research work in the fields of Vedanta, yoga and allied spiritual disciplines.

Our programmes are open to all sincere seekers, irrespective of background. Sessions are held both at our centre in Bengaluru and online, so that participants elsewhere can take part.

What we do

  • Regular study circles and scriptural discourses on Vedanta and related texts.
  • Guided meditation and contemplative practice sessions, in person and online.
  • Residential and day retreats held periodically through the year.
  • Research, translation and archival work in Indian philosophical traditions.

How we are supported

The Trust charges no commercial fee for its work. Participation in a programme is supported by a voluntary donation offered by the participant. These donations are applied solely to the charitable and research objects of the Trust — teaching, upkeep of the centre, materials and outreach.

Donations to the Trust are eligible for deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and a receipt is issued for every contribution received.
